STATUS SYMBOL
Of all the prestigious logos we’ve had on our bikes, of all the brand names we’ve had on our steeds, of all the symbols we’ve worn on jerseys, none have earned us more props and support than this simple, little (and cheeky) sign.
It was given to us and the other solo, single speed riders in the 24 Hours Of The Old Pueblo to hang from our saddles during the race so the other riders knew why, perhaps, we weren’t always hammering at the same pace they were.
It earned us pats on the back, cheers of support and “Go solo!!” from other racers, sometimes in the dark of night when we needed it the most. To all of them, a hearty “thank you.”
It’s small, simple and paper and it’s the most rewarding thing we’ve worn so far.
